Cuso offers $25k fellowship for research on vols' role in development


Cuso International is pleased to announce the 2013 call for applications for the Second Annual Bob Ward Memorial Fellowship to support outstanding research on the role and impact of volunteers in international development.
The award celebrates the legacy of Bob Ward. As past co-chair of Cuso International, Bob Ward was one of the visionary leaders behind of our organization. As a former international volunteer and a dedicated innovator in the fields of social enterprise and community development, he was also a champion of the citizen-based and partnership-driven model of international development that is at the heart of Cuso International.
Eligibility and Value
Open to candidates globally, the Fellowship will be awarded to an individual that is or has been engaged in social change work in the NGO/non-profit sector. Valued at a maximum amount of $25,000 for up to one year, the award is intended to allow the recipient to make a significant contribution to the sector through research that demonstrate the impact of volunteering and advance our understanding of related issues of policy and practice.
The 2013 Bob Ward Memorial Fellowship will focus on the impact of diaspora volunteering. The Fellowship will explore the impacts of diaspora volunteering on the volunteer and the volunteer’s home community as well as on the partner organization and community in which they volunteered.
